Mr. Wymore comes to Rockwell Charter High School with a diverse background in the visual and performing arts. With a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Art and Design from Brigham Young University and a diploma in Interior Design from LaSalle, he has over the period of 30 years been professionally involved in drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, graphic design and interior deign. Mr. Wymore taught many of those art subjects as adjunct faculty at BYU for 6 years.
An accomplished musician playing all of the brass instruments, Mr. Wymore arranged music for and performed with a 12-piece show band playing approximately 1,000 performances as they toured Argentina. During the Vietnam War, he was offered faculty as a brass specialist at the U.S. Naval School of Music in Norfolk, Virginia. Later, as a performer in the Los Angeles Army Band, he arranged many stage band and small ensemble numbers for that organization. Following military service, he directed his own dance band, "The Time Travelers" for more than 10 years. More recently, he performed at the SLC 2002 Winter Olympics as a soloist with the "Utah Freedom Band".
Mr. Wymore is now in his 9th year of experience instructing college and high school art students. He firmly believes serious commitment in the visual and/or performing arts adds great dimension to a student's education.
