Mrs. Woolbright spent her childhood in Oregon and moved to Florida as a teenager. After high school, she attended college at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Rachael graduated in December, 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature, and began teaching English to high school freshmen in the fall of 2002. One year later, she returned to the University of Central Florida to pursue a Masters degree in Educational Technology, which she completed in August, 2005. Rachael continued to teach high school English until December, 2005, at which time a left the profession to spend time with my two children.
She and her family relocated to Utah in 2007, and that is when Mrs. Woolbright began to look for another teaching position. She says, “When I discovered Rockwell in the spring of 2008, I knew I had found the school for me.” Rachael thought the opportunity to be a part of the school from its opening day was exciting, and she says Rockwell has proved to be even better than she expected.
When not at school, Mrs. Woolbright is with her family. She and her husband, Dustin, enjoy watching sports together, particularly the Florida Gators. The couple has a daughter, Lyric (6 years) and a son, Brandon (3 years). Rachael enjoys teaching her kids how to play the piano and reading with them. Any spare time left after those activities is spent playing video games on the Xbox and Wii.
Mrs. Woolbright says her favorite book is LORD OF THE FLIES, and her favorite movie is MONTY PYTHON and the QUEST FOR THE HOLY GRAIL. She loves snacking on Chocolate Oreos, watching the television show, MYTHBUSTERS, or anything with the celebrity Ben Stein. Besides Wii BOWLING, she particularly likes playing the games FABLE II, TETRIS, LEGO BATMAN, and others. Her favorite song is AMNESIA, by Chumbawamba.
Rachael says, “Being a teacher is one of the greatest privileges of my life. I enjoy working with students and sharing my love of literature and writing. A comprehensive education is important for all students, and I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of providing that education.”
